When she opened her refrigerator door, Dana found a demonic dog that said "Zuul!" Dana was later attacked by animal-like claws ripping through her sofa and possessed by Zuul. Peter Venkman found Dana referring to herself as "The Gatekeeper" and spoke of awaiting the coming of Gozer. Dana's primary objective was to find and mate with "The Keymaster". Dana transformed into a demonic dog on the rooftop of her apartment building, and it was up to Venkman and the rest of the Ghostbusters to defeat Zuul and rescue Dana from permanently becoming a dog.
