Native to the planet Dathomir, Rancors had long arms, immense jaws, and armored hides that could withstand blaster fire. Jabba the Hutt kept a pet Rancor in a pit below his palace court, and fed any who displeased him to the monster. The Rancor was killed by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.
